| WEEKLY BRIEFINGHappy Labor Day: Most Favored Nation Drug Pricing Set to Save Americans $600 Billion, 162,000 New Jobs Created in August, Two Executive Orders Back America’s Ranchers, and Operation Economic Outcast Expands to a Global CoalitionOn this Labor Day — the holiday honoring the American worker — President Trump delivered a landmark win for every family in the country. On August 31, the President announced a new round of Most Favored Nation drug pricing agreements, projected to save Americans an estimated $600 billion on prescription drugs. Participating manufacturers — including Bayer, Takeda, and CSL — now align their U.S. prices with the lowest prices charged in other high-income nations such as Canada, Japan, and European countries. TrumpRx.gov covers approximately 80% of commonly dispensed pharmacy medications, and the most recent data confirmed the steepest annual prescription drug price decline in more than 60 years. As Dr. Mehmet Oz noted, one in three Americans previously walked out of the pharmacy empty-handed because they couldn’t afford their medication. That era is ending. The August jobs report delivered a blockbuster number that shocked Wall Street economists who had expected far less: 162,000 new jobs created — nearly triple the consensus forecast. President Trump’s second term has now produced more than 1 million private-sector jobs. Manufacturing posted its strongest monthly gain in three years, adding 16,000 positions driven by demand for pharmaceutical, defense, and semiconductor production. Construction added 22,000 jobs, with factory construction up nearly 100,000 since inauguration day. Average private-sector weekly earnings rose 3.7% year-over-year, and Black unemployment posted its second consecutive monthly decline. On September 2, the White House released the official accounting of the biggest oil deal in world history, detailing the full scope of the agreement securing majority U.S. governance rights, economic ownership, and guaranteed low-cost off-take of 65+ billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela. The private company operating those fields currently produces 250,000 barrels per day and will rank among the world’s largest private oil companies by reserves. Material production is expected by early 2027, with at-cost deliveries to the United States projected to lower gas prices by year-end. The administration frames the deal as direct enforcement of the Monroe Doctrine — cutting off foreign adversary influence in the Western Hemisphere while securing American energy dominance for the next century, at zero cost to the taxpayer. On September 4, President Trump signed two executive orders to defend America’s ranchers and break the chokehold on the nation’s beef supply. The first — Supporting America’s Ranchers — directs Interior to evaluate delisting gray and Mexican wolves under the Endangered Species Act, updates predator compensation standards, and initiates a review of beef labeling to ensure consumers know where their beef was raised. The second — Promoting Fair Competition in Livestock Markets — targets the alarming consolidation in beef processing: the four largest packers now control approximately 85% of all steer and heifer purchases, up from just 36% four decades ago. The order mandates aggressive Packers and Stockyards Act enforcement, expands interstate market access for small and regional processors, and creates a new loan program for independent processing facilities.Operation Economic Outcast — the administration’s maximum-pressure campaign against Iran — is evolving from a U.S. operation into a global coalition. The European Union has now joined U.S. sanctions, and South Korea is weighing direct military backing of the Strait of Hormuz blockade. On September 2, U.S. forces conducted their most significant single-day operation since the blockade began: 60 Iranian targets struck and 18 million barrels of oil protected in a single day — a record that underscores the escalating scale and precision of American operations. Iran continues to lose an estimated $13 billion per month in oil revenue, with no relief in sight.ICE launched “Operation Rotten Apple” across New York, arresting more than 2,000 illegal migrants — including convicted child rapists and murderers — in a sweeping enforcement action that confirms the reach of maximum enforcement into even the most politically resistant jurisdictions. The State Department announced the launch of a Foundry School to train the skilled manufacturing workforce behind America’s industrial comeback. The United States struck a light-touch AI regulation accord with G20 members at the Innovation Ministerial, establishing America’s preferred global framework and preventing the regulatory overreach that could slow American technological leadership. And Delta Airlines announced it will match the federal government’s $1,000 Trump Account seed money for children, with a growing list of American companies pledging similar contributions.President Trump called the International Space Station from Mission Control in a live conversation with American astronauts — a vivid symbol of America’s renewed space leadership and this administration’s personal investment in the men and women who fly for this nation. First Lady Melania Trump completed her 34th family reunification of children displaced by the Russia-Ukraine war, bringing more young people home to their families in a humanitarian mission conducted quietly and consistently across her tenure. As Americans celebrate this Labor Day, the results speak for themselves: drug prices falling at their fastest pace in 60 years, manufacturing booming, the beef monopoly being broken, Iran under maximum pressure, and the United States having secured the biggest oil deal in world history. |

| Happy Labor Day: Drug Prices at a 60-Year Low and Falling Further. On August 31, President Trump announced a new round of Most Favored Nation drug pricing agreements, projected to save Americans an estimated $600 billion on prescription drugs. Under the MFN framework on TrumpRx.gov, participating manufacturers — including Bayer, Takeda, and CSL — agree to align their U.S. prices with the lowest prices charged to other wealthy nations. TrumpRx.gov now covers approximately 80% of commonly dispensed pharmacy medications. The most recent CPI data confirmed the steepest annual prescription drug price decline in more than 60 years — a direct result of executive action, the TrumpRx program, and restored market competition. For Americans who have long struggled to afford prescriptions, the era of paying three to five times more than patients in Europe or Canada is ending — and President Trump delivered this news on Labor Day, sending a clear message that his work on behalf of hardworking American families never stops.162,000 Jobs in August: Manufacturing Is Roaring Back. The August 2026 jobs report shocked economists who had expected far less: 162,000 new jobs created — nearly triple the consensus forecast. President Trump’s second term has now produced more than 1 million private-sector jobs. Manufacturing posted its strongest monthly gain in three years, adding 16,000 positions driven by demand for pharmaceutical, defense, and semiconductor production as companies bring supply chains home. Construction added 22,000 jobs, with factory construction up nearly 100,000 since inauguration day. Average private-sector weekly earnings rose 3.7% year-over-year, labor force participation grew at its strongest rate in almost a year, and Black unemployment posted its second consecutive monthly decline. Analysts called the report “blockbuster,” crediting the tariff framework and domestic investment incentives for a reshoring boom that is putting Americans back to work in the industries that built this nation.President Trump Secures the Biggest Oil Deal in World History. On September 2, the White House released the official, comprehensive account of the biggest oil deal in world history — the agreement securing for the United States majority governance rights, economic ownership, and guaranteed low-cost off-take of 65+ billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela. The private company already operating those reserves produces 250,000 barrels per day and will rank among the world’s largest private oil companies by reserves. Material production under U.S. governance is expected to begin by early 2027, with at-cost oil deliveries to the United States projected to lower gas prices by year-end. Billions in domestic investment and job creation will flow through U.S. refineries and American infrastructure. The White House frames the deal as direct enforcement of the Monroe Doctrine — cutting off foreign adversary influence in the Western Hemisphere while securing American energy dominance for the next century at zero cost to taxpayers.Protecting America’s Ranchers: Two New Executive Orders. On September 4, President Trump signed two executive orders to defend America’s ranchers and break the chokehold on the nation’s beef supply. The first — Supporting America’s Ranchers — directs the Interior Department to evaluate delisting gray wolves and Mexican wolves under the Endangered Species Act, updates predator compensation standards, and initiates a review of beef labeling to ensure consumers know where their beef was raised. The second — Promoting Fair Competition in Livestock Markets — takes direct aim at alarming consolidation in beef processing: the four largest beef packers now control approximately 85% of all steer and heifer purchases, up from just 36% four decades ago, enabling them to suppress cattle prices while raising prices for consumers. The order mandates aggressive enforcement of the Packers and Stockyards Act, expands interstate market access for small and regional processors, and creates a new loan program for independent processing facilities — all designed to restore competition, increase producer share of the beef dollar, and lower prices at the grocery store. These orders respond to U.S. cattle herds falling to a 75-year low.Operation Economic Outcast: EU Joins, Record Day in the Strait of Hormuz. Operation Economic Outcast — the administration’s maximum-pressure campaign against Iran — is expanding from a U.S. effort into a full international coalition. The European Union has now joined U.S. sanctions targeting Iranian military procurement and petroleum trading, and South Korea is weighing direct military backing of the Strait of Hormuz blockade — a signal of growing allied alignment with American strategy. On September 2, U.S. forces conducted the most significant single-day operation since the blockade began: 60 Iranian targets struck, 18 million barrels of oil protected in a single day — a record that demonstrates the escalating scale and precision of American operations. Iran continues to lose approximately $13 billion per month in oil revenue, triggering a domestic fuel crisis, currency collapse, and cascading inflation inside the Islamic Republic, with no relief in sight.ICE Clears New York in Operation Rotten Apple, Foundry School Launched, G20 AI Accord Reached. ICE’s “Operation Rotten Apple” swept through New York, arresting more than 2,000 illegal migrants — including convicted child rapists and murderers — proving that maximum enforcement reaches even the nation’s most politically resistant jurisdictions. The State Department launched a Foundry School to train the skilled workforce behind America’s manufacturing renaissance, directly connecting industrial education to the reshoring investment flowing back to American communities. At the G20 Innovation Ministerial, the United States struck a light-touch AI regulation accord with G20 members, establishing America’s preferred framework for global AI governance and protecting American technological leadership from the regulatory overreach that would slow innovation. And Delta Airlines announced it will match the federal government’s $1,000 Trump Account seed money, with a growing list of American companies pledging similar contributions to help the next generation build wealth and achieve financial independence.Trump Calls the International Space Station, and Melania Completes 34th Wartime Family Reunification. President Trump spoke live with American astronauts aboard the International Space Station from Mission Control — a vivid symbol of America’s renewed space leadership and the personal investment of this President in the men and women who fly for this nation. First Lady Melania Trump completed her 34th family reunification of children displaced by the Russia-Ukraine war, quietly and consistently returning displaced children to their families in a humanitarian mission that has now brought home dozens of young people separated by conflict. As this Labor Day edition of the White House Weekly Briefing closes, the results of President Trump’s second term are undeniable: drug prices at a 60-year low, manufacturing booming, the beef monopoly broken, Iran under maximum pressure, and America having secured the biggest oil deal in world history. This is what winning looks like. |
