The radical left media and Democrat-aligned election groups are in full meltdown mode after President Trump refused to rule out emergency action to secure the 2026 midterms.
The Guardian is shrieking today that President Donald Trump is “sowing election distrust” and “laying the groundwork” to declare a national emergency ahead of the 2026 midterms.
They’re terrified. And they should be. Because for the first time in years, the American people are finally seeing the receipts.
The Trump administration is releasing government records about noncitizen voting, foreign interference, vulnerable election systems, and serious failures involving state voter rolls.

According to The Guardian, election activists fear that Trump could use the administration’s findings to declare a national-security emergency and assert greater federal authority over the November midterms.
The paper pointed to Trump’s July address on election security, the release of declassified intelligence documents, new federal findings concerning noncitizen voting, and the administration’s relentless push for voter identification and proof of citizenship.
In July, President Trump delivered a primetime address from the White House and declassified a mountain of intelligence documents revealing China had acquired as many as 220 million U.S. voter files, names, addresses, phone numbers, the works.

The White House Government Transparency Task Force laid it out clearly: the largest compromise of election data in history.
Adversaries including China, Russia, Iran and North Korea have the capability to target our election infrastructure. Non-citizen registration numbers in the hundreds of thousands were flagged by DHS analysis. Voting machine vulnerabilities were highlighted. The deep state tried to bury it for years. Trump just put it all on the table.
Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has also predicted that the president will declare an emergency to protect the upcoming elections.

“Take your No 2 pencil out. It’s coming. It’s coming. Just block the last week of August out. It’s coming.”
Bannon also told CNN that on the night of Trump’s July address, the declassified material was “a powerful predicate” for a National Security Emergency on the midterms.
When Wayne Allyn Root, longtime Gateway Pundit contributor and one of the loudest voices demanding real election security, put the idea directly to the President on Real America’s Voice.

Trump didn’t shut it down. He didn’t dodge. He said: “Let me just say, stranger things have happened, OK? I’ll leave it at that.”
Wayne Allyn Root wrote this on The Gateway Pundit:
I interviewed President Donald J. Trump. My record-setting 17th interview with the President of the United States produced a Democrat meltdown and liberal media firestorm.

For the past three days (and counting) one specific idea that I pitched to President Trump during our interview has been the #1 story on every liberal political talk show in America.
My idea to secure our elections has dominated MSNOW and CNN headlines. The left is in full- blown panic mode over the reality that President Trump might adopt my idea for…
A NATIONAL SECURITY EMERGENCY FOR ELECTIONS.

During a subsequent War Room interview, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon asked Root whether the administration’s continuing election-integrity disclosures had created sufficient justification for Trump to act.
